Bandai Namco has officially unveiled Mask of Idris, the first major expansion for Code Vein II, which will launch alongside a free Version 2.0 update. A release date has not yet been announced.

Included with the game’s Deluxe and Ultimate Editions, or available as a standalone purchase, Mask of Idris introduces a brand-new post-game adventure set in the mysterious Forsaken World a realm formed from the remnants of worlds erased by altered history.

At the heart of this fractured dimension lies a colossal swirling spindle that draws in emotions from across time and space, threatening to spill into the real world. Players will investigate the growing crisis while encountering Liv Voda, a powerful guardian of time and space whose fiery personality plays a central role in the new storyline.

The expansion is designed as post-game content and requires players to reach the “Luna Fraterna” ending in the main campaign, as well as complete the side mission “Valentin’s Request,” before the new questline becomes available.

Alongside the paid expansion, Version 2.0 will be released as a free update for all players. Bandai Namco confirmed it will introduce additional content, including new ways to explore the world after completing the main story alongside companion characters. More details on the update will be shared at a later date.

Released earlier this year, Code Vein II builds upon the original’s action RPG formula with new time-travel mechanics, an expanded Partner System, deeper character customization, and challenging combat centered around Blood Codes and powerful Jails.

Code Vein II is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
