Daybreak Game Company and Cold Iron Studios have officially announced Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The sequel is set to launch this summer.

Set within the iconic Aliens universe, the game once again puts players in the boots of Colonial Marines battling overwhelming Xenomorph threats across hostile environments. This time around, the sequel expands gameplay from three-player co-op to full four-player squad combat.

According to game director Chris Cross, the sequel aims to push both the action and horror elements further while delivering a larger-scale experience for fans of the franchise.

Among the biggest additions is the new Specialist class, a fully customizable role that allows players to mix abilities from multiple classes to create unique builds tailored to different squad setups and playstyles.

The game also introduces:

  • Expanded four-player cooperative gameplay
  • Smarter and more aggressive Xenomorph enemies
  • New weapons and ammo types, including pyro and electric rounds
  • Larger Horde Mode encounters with escalating waves of enemies
  • Deeper class synergy and tactical combat mechanics

Cold Iron says the sequel focuses heavily on teamwork, situational awareness, and adaptability, with encounters capable of shifting from tense exploration to full-scale chaos within seconds.

20th Century Games also confirmed the announcement coincides with the 40th anniversary celebrations for the Aliens franchise in 2026.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is scheduled to launch later this year.
