The Pokémon franchise has reached another incredible milestone, with total video game sales now surpassing 515 million copies worldwide.
The figure was revealed in the latest financial results from The Pokémon Company and represents a significant increase from the 489 million copies reported at the end of March 2025. That means Pokémon games sold approximately 26 million units during the last fiscal year alone.
According to the report, at least four million of those sales came from Pokémon Pokopia, one of the franchise’s newest releases.
The Pokémon Company also highlighted the enduring appeal of the series, noting that the core gameplay formula established with the original games in 1996 continues to attract new generations of players. Collecting Pokémon, battling, training, and trading remain the foundation of the franchise nearly three decades later.
Beyond video games, Pokémon’s reach continues to expand. The company revealed that more than 85 billion Pokémon trading cards have been produced worldwide, further cementing the brand’s status as one of the most successful entertainment franchises of all time.
Looking ahead, the next mainline Pokémon games are currently planned for 2027, while Pokémon Winds and Waves is expected to launch next year.
With more than half a billion games sold and millions of new players joining every year, Pokémon remains one of the most dominant and enduring franchises in gaming history.
