Nintendo has announced Kirby and the World Beyond, a brand-new 3D adventure that will bring the pink hero back for another major outing on Nintendo Switch 2.
The game is currently scheduled to launch in autumn 2027, with Nintendo confirming that its release will coincide with the 35th anniversary of the Kirby series.
Unlike Kirby’s traditionally more linear adventures, The World Beyond will give players an expansive world to explore freely. Nintendo says players will be able to roam across the game’s environments while using Kirby’s Copy Abilities in creative ways to overcome whatever challenges they encounter.
Beyond that, Nintendo has yet to reveal many details about the adventure, but the emphasis on free exploration marks an interesting direction for the series.

The timing of Kirby and the World Beyond is particularly fitting, with the game arriving as the franchise celebrates 35 years.
Nintendo has described the project as a new 3D adventure, suggesting that exploration and experimentation will be central to the experience as players uncover what lies beyond Kirby’s familiar world.
