NCSOFT has announced that AION 2 will launch worldwide for PC via Steam and PURPLE this September, bringing the long-running MMORPG franchise to a global audience.
The game previously debuted in South Korea and Taiwan in November 2025, and now players around the world will finally get the chance to explore the next chapter of Atreia.
Built using Unreal Engine 5, AION 2 dramatically expands the scale of the original game, featuring a world said to be 36 times larger than its predecessor. The MMORPG’s biggest selling point remains its emphasis on aerial combat, with flight serving as a core gameplay mechanic rather than simply a means of transportation.
Players will take on the role of Daevas, engaging in large-scale battles across the skies while navigating a world designed around vertical exploration and three-dimensional combat. NCSOFT promises faster-paced combat, extensive class customization, and more than 200 dungeons ranging from solo challenges to large group raids.
The game also features a robust character creator with over 200 customization options, alongside collectible mounts, wings, outfits, and seasonal activities such as the Shugo Festival.
With its focus on large-scale aerial warfare, expansive exploration, and modern Unreal Engine 5 visuals, AION 2 is aiming to become one of the biggest MMORPG launches of 2026 when it arrives worldwide this September.
