Dispatch Update Restores Some Censored Content on Switch

AdHoc Studio has released a new free update for Dispatch that loosens censorship restrictions on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch while introducing optional content filters for PlayStation 5 and PC players.

Dubbed the “HR Violations Update,” the patch gives Nintendo players more control over how explicit content is displayed. The default “Partial Coverage” setting now restores some previously censored visual content, while a “Full Coverage” option remains available for those who prefer a fully censored experience.

Players can also choose between multiple censorship styles, including traditional pixel mosaics, a comedic “Chaotic” mode that covers content with random objects, and the standard blackout filter.

On PlayStation 5 and PC, where the game has remained uncensored since launch, the update adds the same optional filter settings for players who want to customize their experience. According to AdHoc Studio, the additions were made partly for fun, allowing players to experience some of the game’s more absurd censorship options.

Regional restrictions still apply in certain territories, with Japan receiving the most heavily restricted version of the update.

The developer also confirmed that Xbox players will receive the new settings when Dispatch launches on Xbox Series X|S later this summer.

The update is available now as a free download for Switch 2 and Switch owners, while PlayStation 5 and PC users can access the new options simply by updating the game.
