Halo Studios Reportedly Hit by Layoffs Following Halo: Campaign Evolved Launch

Halo Studios

Halo Studios has reportedly been impacted by another round of layoffs, with several employees confirming on LinkedIn that their time at the studio has come to an end shortly after the launch of Halo: Campaign Evolved.

Among those affected is Nick Treitman, a producer who spent more than six years working on the Halo franchise. In a LinkedIn post, Treitman said he had managed to avoid previous rounds of layoffs before finally being impacted.

“After 6.5 years working on Halo and dodging just as many rounds of layoffs—it has finally caught up to me. I have nothing but love for Halo and the folks at the studio, this is just a tough reality in the gaming industry right now.”

Treitman said he is now seeking new opportunities as a Producer or Project Manager, either remotely or in the Seattle area.

Another employee, Paul Morris, confirmed his departure after the launch of Halo: Campaign Evolved. Morris, who worked as a Scrum Master in a contract role, said he had learned his time with Halo Studios had ended following the game’s successful release.

Meanwhile, Caleb Lawrence, a software engineer at the studio, has also updated his LinkedIn profile to indicate he is available for work, suggesting he was affected by the cuts.

Microsoft and Halo Studios have not officially commented on the reported layoffs or confirmed how many employees have been impacted.

The reported job cuts come just weeks after the release of Halo: Campaign Evolved, the first game in the series to launch simultaneously on PlayStation 5, alongside Xbox Series X|S and PC.

The gaming industry continues to experience widespread restructuring throughout 2026, with numerous studios across the industry announcing layoffs despite major game launches.

Here’s hoping we see the industry reach a stalemate soon.
