THQ Nordic’s remaster of the cult-classic action RPG has officially made the jump to Switch.

If you’ve been waiting to take Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Remaster on the go, the wait is over. THQ Nordic, alongside developers SparklingBit and Funatics, has officially released Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Remaster for Nintendo Switch.

The remaster previously launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on November 11, 2025, meaning Switch players are the latest to get their hands on the updated version of the classic action RPG. And for fans of the original, this is more than just a straightforward re-release.

Return to Ancaria

Sacred 2: Fallen Angel originally built a passionate following thanks to its enormous open world, deep character customisation and the kind of loot-driven gameplay that can easily consume dozens of hours.

The story takes players to Ancaria, a fantasy world on the verge of collapse. At the centre of the conflict is T-Energy, a mysterious source of power that was once responsible for prosperity but has now become a source of corruption, war and chaos.

Players can choose from six different heroes, each with their own abilities, combat styles and approach to the adventure. From there, Sacred 2 gives players a massive world to explore, packed with quests, dungeons, monsters and plenty of opportunities to improve their character. It’s a formula that will feel immediately familiar to fans of games like Diablo, but Sacred 2 has always had its own personality.

What Does the Remaster Change?

The remastered version brings a number of improvements designed to make the game feel more comfortable on modern hardware.

THQ Nordic has updated the game’s visuals with enhanced textures, lighting and increased view distances, while combat has been refined to feel smoother and more responsive. The user interface has also been modernised, and the game now includes full controller support.

Perhaps more importantly, the remaster includes all expansions and updates, bringing the entire Sacred 2 experience together in one package. The developers have also implemented community-driven fixes and stability improvements. Considering the age of the original game, those improvements could make a significant difference for players returning to Ancaria after all these years.
