Udo Kier, Veteran Actor Known for Call of Duty and OD, Has Passed Away

Legendary German actor Udo Kier has died at the age of 81, his partner Delbert McBride confirmed.

Kier had a remarkably prolific career appearing in over 200 films and became known for his distinctive, often chilling performances. His work ranged from underground and arthouse films to major Hollywood titles.

Some of his most memorable roles included appearances in Flesh for Frankenstein, Blood for Dracula, My Own Private Idaho, Ace Ventura, Blade, and several films with director Lars von Trier.

In gaming, Kier was known for his voice work, including roles in Call of Duty: WWII. He was also set to appear in Hideo Kojima’s upcoming game, OD, and Kojima publicly paid tribute to Kier, describing him as an “icon of his time” after their last meeting in Milan.

No cause of death has been disclosed. Udo Kier’s presence on screen was unmistakable he leaves behind a huge legacy, and will be deeply missed by film and gaming fans alike.
