Sony Interactive Entertainment and Santa Monica Studio have officially announced that God of War Laufey will launch exclusively for PlayStation 5 on February 16, 2027.
Revealed during San Diego Comic-Con 2026, the game marks the next chapter in the God of War franchise, shifting the spotlight to Laufey, better known as Faye, the wife of Kratos and mother of Atreus.
Alongside the release date announcement, Santa Monica Studio Creative Director Cory Barlog confirmed that another Kratos-led God of War game is already in development.
Speaking during the game’s Comic-Con panel, Barlog revealed that Kratos’ next adventure will launch after God of War Laufey and will connect directly to Faye’s story, suggesting the two games are part of a larger narrative arc.
While no release window or additional details were shared, the announcement reassures fans that Kratos remains central to the future of the franchise.
