Focus Entertainment has officially confirmed that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will continue receiving live support into a third year following the game’s massive success.
The announcement comes as the game surpasses 12 million players since launching in 2024, with recent releases on PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass helping push player numbers even higher.
In a new community update, Focus said recent patches and updates have been “very well received,” motivating the team to continue expanding the game beyond its original roadmap. Content that doesn’t make it into Year 2 will now roll over into Year 3 support, with the publisher teasing even more additions still to come.
The updated Year 2 roadmap includes:
- A new Salamanders Champion Pack
- Expanded armor customization options
- A Wargear rework allowing certain class-specific cosmetics to be shared across classes
- Perks Loadouts for easier build swapping
- A new solo Practice Arena inside the Battle Barge
- “Ultragrind Ordeals,” high-difficulty long-term challenges with exclusive unlocks

Patch 13, launching before the end of June, will introduce capes, iron halos, perk loadouts, the Practice Arena, and the new Trials of Resolve system. Patch 14, due by the end of September, will add tabards and robe customization options.
Developer Saber Interactive previously stated that Space Marine 2 dramatically changed the studio following its breakout success, and while Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 has already been announced, details on the sequel remain scarce.
